Happy Mardi Gras

Today is Mardi Gras and where we live that is a BIG DEAL. People look forward to this season all year long. This year we have kept it low key since Lily is so little and only been out of the hospital for a week. Grace is at the perfect age to enjoy the festivities this year so Beau took her down to the King's stands today while I stay home with Lily. I hate that I will miss her first Mardi Gras but at least she is having fun with her Daddy, Grandma and Pop. I can't wait for them to come home and tell me all about their day and see the pics! Halloween 2011

Halloween was so much fun this year. Grace is finally old enough to enjoy it and we now live a family neighborhood so there were kids everywhere. We started the day by painting all of our pumpkins and Grace had a blast. The pumpkin painting will definitely be a new family tradition. She was getting so into it and concentrating really hard.
 Before trick or treating began our neighbors made gumbo for everyone so we went over and visited. Beau's parents came over to see Grace dressed up and hand out candy while we walked the neighborhood with her. I was a little worried how she would do with all the costumes but she wasn't scared by anything. I think something that really helped is that everyone was set up in their driveway so we didn't have to walk up to doors and knock.
 After we made the first two blocks we came home and helped Grandma and Pop handout the rest of the candy. Grace enjoyed seeing all the kids and was really sharing all of it. I really though she would get upset at giving the candy away but she thought it was fun.

I can't wait until next year when we will have both of our little girls dressed up :)

Lily's Crib

We finally started working on Lily's room and one of the first things we did was put together her crib. Grace was very helpful and helped her daddy the whole time and even tested out her sisters bed when they were finished :)

10 Year H.S. Reunion

First off I have to say that I cannot believe it has been ten years since I graduated hight school!
Our reunion weekend was a lot of fun but unfortunately not a lot of people showed up. Our graduating class was 27 but only about 8 girls showed up. Even though we were disappointed in the turnout we had a blast! On Friday there was a cocktail party at school and on Saturday there was a Mass & luncheon and we all went to dinner Saturday night.
 I really enjoyed seeing everyone and it was really nice to have some girl time. I just hope it's not another 5 years before we get together again.

New Orleans

A few weeks ago we went to New Orleans for Beau's godson's birthday and made a weekend out of it. It was so much fun to show Grace the city I grew up in take her to all of my favorite places as a child. On Saturday we did the birthday party and on Sunday we went to Storyland at City Park and Buds Broiler, yummy!
She had a great time and on our next trip we will go to the zoo and the aquarium. There is just so much to do and so little time.

Pumpkin Patch 2011

A few weeks ago we took Grace to the pumpkin patch here in town and I was really happy that Beau was in town. This was Beau's first time to come with us so he couldn't really compare to last year but all I kept thinking about was how much Grace had grown in such a short amount of time.
